Juicing!!

I am loving the juicer these days, again!

Grapefruit, carrot and ginger…yum!

Apples and clementines…delish!

Romaine, parsley, kale, pineapple, ginger, mango….mmmmm.

This morning I did (leftovers in frig) grapefruit, blueberries, strawberries and apples…it was really good!

Detox Week 1 Summary

All in all detox week 1 went well.

I was pleasantly surprised at how little I experienced “detox” symptoms….like sitting on the toilet for hours, sweating, constant headaches etc.

I experienced cravings, hunger and fatigue and a little irritability (nothing new there…hehe).

I am looking forward to being able to able back in protein, whole grains and fish….YAY!!

Fab Friday

Well…here is my detox update….I am almost done with week 1….thank the Lord, I am doing pretty well and am excited to add lots of good food in next week.  As for my status….I will let you figure it out based on this scenario…

I woke up this morning and was juicing my juice and  some of it spilled.  I began to cry….hmmmm!

As for Fab Friday, I have recently found some very comfy and cute undies….woot woot!

 

 

 

 

 

Unfortunately, they do not transform your tummy into looking like this and I wish they made them in bikinis, HOWEVER they are super comfy, somewhat cute and are made from modal…..“Modal is a processed bio-based textile made from reconstituted cellulose from the beech tree. It is very soft and popular for both clothing and household textiles such as bedding, upholstery, and towels. Modal may be used on its own or in a blend with cottonspandex, or other textiles. In many ways, modal acts like cotton, but it also has some significant advantages over cotton.”

I find the material to be extremely light and breathable, which is very important for those of us who have had our girl parts yanked from our body, which results in less--shall we say– filtering.  I also find modal more comfortable.

Detox Day 2

Aside from being famished, things are going pretty well.

Love the Kale Slaw…so good…of course…cardboard might be yummy at this point too!

This is the toughest week…so hang in there!

Tonight I will finish up the Kale Slaw and have the avocado, pepper and tomato salad as well.

Drinking lots of water is important while you detox…so drink up!

Status Day 2: Hungry, Tired and a little grouchy (all par for the course).

What’s on the Menu for Day 3:

Lemon water first thing and last thing of the day.

Breakfast: Grapefruit, Carrot, Ginger juice

Lunch: Sweet Potato, Celery, Apple Salad

Dinner: Roasted Peppers, Cauliflower and Almonds

I added in the exercise part of the detox too….went for a brisk 2 mile walk this morning….did you here that Babe??  A WALK!! Woot Woot!

Detox:Day 1 Part 2

Okay…I think this is how I will work the detox stuff….I will post in the evening a status report and what’s on the menu for the following day.

Day 1 Status:  HHHUUUNNNGGGRRRYYYYYY!!!!  

They say 4 tummy growls a day is a good sign!  I am BEYOND that!!  I am truly ready to eat my shirt!  Sigh.

On the Menu Today:

Upon Waking: room temp water with a lemon wedged squeezed

Drinks:  all day water

Breakfast: Grapefruit, Carrot and Ginger Juice  Find the recipe Here!

Lunch: As I mentioned, I was not prepped so I had a few handfuls of pumpkin and sunflower seeds.

Dinner: Spiced Butternut Squash and Apple Soup…yum!  recipe

End of Day: room temp water with lemon

On The Menu Day 2:

Upon Waking: room temp water with a lemon wedged squeezed

Drinks:  all day water

Breakfast: Green Juice

Lunch: Kale Slaw

Dinner:Steamed Broccoli, Squash and Tahini Sauce

Detox:Day 1

Well…this will be short, as I just got home from an interview and haven’t eaten a thing except lemon water, except, of course, if you count licking the little glob of chocolate that was leftover from Lord knows when on the kitchen counter….DON’T JUDGE ME!!

Anywho…I neglected to really look at the detox yesterday, so I am flying by the seat of my pants here….need to figure it all out today.

I remember, however from the one I did last year that you start and end each day with room temperature or warmer water with lemon squeezed in it, which aids digestion.

So, I will be posting on my detox experience for the next 28 days…ugh!

Also….looking ahead…I am going to do a March Madness that will involve doing A Random Act of Kindness each day for the month of March.  Would love people to join me in that and share our ideas and reactions from people in the comment section.  I wish I was tech savvy, I would make a sign up thingy etc.  If anyone knows how I could organize that on the blog…shoot me an email!
