Hi!  Thanks for stopping by The Naked Mom!

My name is Lisa.  I am a stay-at-home mother of five….YEP, I said FIVE…woohoo!  I live in New Jersey on a beautiful 7 acre farm.  With the age range of my children being 6 – 21, it has been quite some time since I have had a moment to just “be.”  My youngest will be starting full day school in the Fall and I have started this blog as a way to journal the venture of  discovering myself!

I started the blog a little earlier than anticipated, as I had surgery and was laid up….so…why not blog?

The Naked Mom title was not intended to create scandal or to be “inappropriate,”  it was named with the simple intention to share as openly and honestly as I possibly can, to lay down all of the pretenses and just be REAL….vulnerable and authentic.

My hope is that through the stories of my life,  which will be a broad range of many different topics including family, kids, relationships, inner peace, contentment , struggles, joys, recipes and new adventures I will embark on beginning this Fall, that someone in the world will feel like they can relate, feel less alone or simply share a laugh.

I have a passion for people, for connection…..I love nothing more than sharing my heart with people and listening to them share their heart with me.  We live in a world where we close ourselves off and turn ourselves inside out striving to be “someone” we think we are “supposed” to be….frankly, I find all of the shenanigans exhausting.

I hope you find a sense of peace and connection here….a place to laugh, cry and take a deep breath.

Meet the Family……

From left to right….

Erin, my 21 year-old daughter, presently in college working (SLOWLY) towards a BA in elementary education.  She is full of life and always up for trying new things!

Me,  Lisa Allen (I wish someone informed me that I was SLOUCHING…ugh)!

Olivia, my 13 year-old daughter.  She is currently learning to play guitar and  piano…. all in all our resident drama queen.

Christopher, my 19 year-old son, sophomore in college for a business degree…easy going and focused (at least at the moment).

Ryleigh, 14 year-old daughter, loves dance and will be on the dance team for her first HS year, she is my worrier, my wear-your-heart-on-your-sleeve kid.

Talia, my 6 year-old, shy in public, but when she is with the people she is comfy around she is our entertainer….easiest child to date…she knows I’m on my last leg with this parenting thing…ha!

Dan, my husband.  He is a HS chemistry teacher, loves farming and wishes he could do it full-time.  We are the classic yin/yang couple.

We have a family run garden, my husband and his dad being “the family”…. hehe… and sell our veggies at a farm-stand!!

Needless to say, it is very busy here and with 4 girls there is always drama on hand!   Sigh.

I am glad you stopped by and hope you return!  I love hearing from you, so please leave a comment.  If you enjoy a post please feel free to share!

Wow! You do not look old enough to have a 21yr old!

  2. Thank you! I started having children when I was 6!!! LOL!

  3. I have to say I had to linger a bit longer on the five kids if I got that right. 🙂 Don’t worry though, you don’t look like you have five. 😉
And why is the third child almost always the drama queen? I have three other siblings – 2 brothers and a sister (aka the third child). Looking forward to reading more on your blog.

  4. Nel…Thanks for the compliment! I appreciate you stopping by and reading The Naked Mom. I will stop by your site, as well!!
